Equipment (400)

Equipment must be an essential component to the project being proposed. It must be properly allocated to the program/project.
When the equipment is not dedicated 100% to the project, based on usage of the equipment for grant purposes, only a percentage of the cost can be claimed/reimbursed, or submitted as Match.

Example : If a flat-screen TV screen costs $1,000 and it is used for training purposes 50% of the time, then only $500 can be charged to the grant, or shown as Match.

Equipment with a unit price of $5,000 or more, requires prior approval from TxDOT and from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

• Description - name/briefly describe item/unit
• Unit Price - enter a cost estimate for one unit
• Quantity - enter total number of units
• Purpose/Details - justify need for the equipment by providing detailed information, up to 500 characters
• Check the field if this Equipment has a useful life of more than one year and a unit price of $5,000 or more
• Select Save button to calculate Total Cost

Allocate the total cost amount by entering it into the TxDOT, Match, and/or Program Income fields. The allocated amounts must equal the calculated total cost amount.

Remember to Save your work - Every 15 minutes eGrants times out, whether you're typing or not.
