Objectives, PI&E, Performance Measures and Activities

In building an objective statement, you enter verb + target number + performance measure + completion date to form a complete coherent sentence. Must be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-framed.

Example:
1) To Conduct 1 statewide traffic safety conference by 6/30/2020.
2) To Achieve 10 % increase in conference participation, as compared to the previous year, by 7/31/2020.

Project may not start before Oct 1 nor go beyond Sept 30 of the grant's fiscal year. Costs submitted on an RFR with dates outside of this range will not be reimbursed.

Activities are a list of the specific non-routine tasks to be performed throughout the year in order to accomplish project goals. These should contain no more than 10 high-level activities, and should start with an action verb. These provide guidance and demonstrate project management efficiency and effectiveness, serving as measurement of project progress. Completion Dates should be staggered throughout the year, and not all be the same date. Summarize activities, responsible party, target activity completion date, and activities should be sequenced by date. General routine administrative tasks, such as submitting monthly PRs and RFRs, are not considered "Activities" in this situation.

If a Public Information and Educational (PI&E) activity is part of the proposal, a PI&E Objective Statement is required.

Every Objective Statement requires at least one Activity.
